Fungsi Volt Meter

By | March 23, 2023

A voltmeter is an instrument used for measuring electrical potential difference between two points in an electric circuit. Voltmeter is one of the most important instruments used in electrical and electronics engineering. It is used to measure voltage, current, and resistance.

Voltmeter can be classified into two types: analogue voltmeter and digital voltmeter. Analogue voltmeter uses a pointer to indicate the voltage value on a scale, while digital voltmeter uses a digital display to show the voltage value.

The working principle of a voltmeter is based on the principle of Wheatstone bridge. When the voltage to be measured is applied across the two arms of the bridge, a current flows through the galvanometer. The value of the voltage can be calculated from the known values of the resistances and the current.

Voltmeter can be used to measure DC as well as AC voltages. However, AC voltmeter is more complex than DC voltmeter.

There are many factors that affect the accuracy of a voltmeter reading, such as the resistance of the voltmeter, the internal resistance of the battery, and the load resistance. The accuracy of the voltmeter can be increased by using a higher resistance voltmeter or by using a battery with lower internal resistance.
